Antioxidant & Anti-inflammatory Benefits
The antioxidant effects of a grape skin extract has been studied in a human trial in which it was discovered that intake of the GSE has vitamin C sparing properties[1]. In another study, grape juice concentrate was found to improve the lipoprotein profile (cholesterol) and reduce oxidation of LDL (low density lipoproteins) in human subjects[2]. The study also found that the concentrate helped to reduce plasma concentrations of inflammatory biomarkers and favour a reduction in the risk of cardiovascular disease. This indicates a possible anti inflammatory role for trans-resveratrol.
